Getting organised

I always leave things like Christmas gifts till November and have a real panic of what to do for gifts. I like to take my time over people’s gifts and choose the perfect present for them. Obviously when I leave it till last minute I struggle and get stressed! So this year, I’m thinking about Christmas already….. And it is only February!! I will get organised for this year!

I like to make presents personal to each recipient and put a lot of thought into each one to make them individual. With that in mind, I have decided to make presents throughout the year and store them until the time comes to get festive and start the piles of wrapping.

I have been working on a blanket and cushion for one of my nieces. I’ve done lots of granny square blankets but this is the first time I have done it with hexagons. I was a bit nervous but it was really fun and came together well. I decided to do a cushion to match the blanket. It was another first for me as I haven’t done a cushion before but again it was a nice pattern and worked well.

I am so happy with the end result and can’t wait to wrap it beautifully for my niece to enjoy opening!

  1. Congratulations on your new blog. Love to crochet and do handmade gifts too; I’ve just started on my granddaughters wedding veil using thread, not sure how long it will take, but since she is only 9, figure I have plenty of time. Her mom has started a hope chest for her, and this hopefully will go into it. 😀

  2. I have started on making Christmas gifts already also! Go us!
But I am not doing personalized things. I am giving everyone the same thing. I may change colors for each person… I fhaven’t decided yet.
